This is an introduction to silhouette shooting with the intention of giving young shooters new or more challenging opportunities. We will use normal .22 targets with the following match rules:
- Chickens at 20 yards
- Pigs at 30 yards
- Turkeys at 40 yards
- Rams at 50 yards
- Five targets at each distance
- Ten shots at each distance
- No order or shot limit on a given target
- Score will be the number of targets down after ten shots
- Shoot the match either all standing or all sand bagged
- Some rifles will be available to borrow
- Eye and ear protection is required and is available at the range.
Youth shooters also have an opportunity to earn a patch for the NSSF Junior USA Shooting Team. Ask at the

The first Youth Silhouette shoot of the season had four shooters come out to knock off all the rust that accumulated over the winter. Results were very good and they will get event better with some more practice.

Desarae Parker (bagged): 5 chickens, 5 pigs, 5 turkeys, 5 rams
Taylor Wills (standing): 4 chickens, 3 pigs, 0 turkeys, 4 rams
Kyle Baker (standing): 5 chickens, 5 pigs, 4 turkeys, 5 rams
All four shooters also earned patches signifying membership with the Junior USA Shooting Team for 2008. Membership requires scoring a minimum of 35 points with five shots at 50 feet. Congratulations are in order for all the participants.
